One of my candles just burned itself to death and spontaneously combusted and cracked. I'm so upset. This fucking bullshit only happens to me I swear to Jeebus.

I changed the lock on my front door so you can't see me anymore And you can't come inside my house, and you can't lie down on my couch I changed the lock on my front door I changed the number on my phone so you can't call me up at home And you can't say those things to me that make me fall down on my knees I changed the number on my phone I changed the kind of car I drive so you can't see me when I go by And you can't chase me up the street, and you can't knock me off of my feet I changed the kind of car I drive I changed the kind of clothes I wear so you can't see me anywhere And you can't spot me in a crowd, and you can't call my name out loud I changed the kind of clothes I wear I changed the tracks underneath the train so you can't find me again And you can't trace my path, and you can't hear my laugh I changed the tracks underneath the train I changed the name of this town so you can't follow me down And you can't touch me like before, and you can't make me want you more I changed the name of this town I changed the lock on my front door, I changed the number on my phone I changed the kind of car I drive, I changed the kind of clothes I wear I changed the tracks underneath the train, I changed the name of this town I changed the name of this town I changed the name of this town |

My handset has totally crapped out, and I am phoneless.

Does anybody have a T-Mobile (or unlocked) phone that they're willing to loan me so that I can slip my SIM card into it and be in touch with the world again? Pretty pretty please?? |

I figured since I never update anymore, now is a good time to do so.
Things are going well in New York. Next April will be my 5 year mark. Tanya and I are doing well. We got a great new apartment in Astoria. It's a nice pre-war building with an elevator, high ceilings and a classic molding along the walls. It's right above a cute little bar we like. Work wise, I got a job doing database work for a litigation company in Manhattan. Mostly recovering data from hard drives and putting together electronic evidence for court.
I miss North Carolina a whole lot. I miss my family and I miss my good friends back home. I am long over due for a visit down south but I love living in New York City.
Oh and Michael Jackson died today. Fucking crazy. |

| | i'm fighting the law & the law's probably going to win | ] | so um, carey & i kinda had an altercation with an arrogant, chauvinistic cop the other day & are now scheduled to appear in court on july 15th.
does anyone know of any websites wherein one can obtain free legal advice?
it's a really stupid, fucked-up situation. we accidentally pissed off a traffic cop, & as punishment, we're being accused of two minor crimes/traffic violations we ABSOLUTELY DID NOT commit. i mean, this guy literally pulled these charges out of his ass -- we were doing absolutely NOTHING wrong. we're trying to figure out how to prove our innocence & see if we have any hope of winning in court. luckily the charges are relatively minor, so it wouldn't be such a big deal except that one of these false accusations will add two points to carey's license (& then his already sky-high new jersey insurance will go even sky-higher) if we don't go to court & fight it.
it just makes me absolutely FURIOUS that cops are allowed to get away with this shit. i realize that we probably have no chance of winning in a case against the police (it's basically going to be his word against ours, & i assume he's going to be favored since he carries a fucking badge & a gun), but we have to try. the legal system & law enforcement of new jersey is so corrupt & unjust, it's not even funny. ugh. my blood is still boiling. |

Life has been crazy busy lately here in Shitty Buffalo.
Many friends visiting for a few days here and there, festivals, work to go to every fucking awful day, never ever never enough money, so many things to watch, too many beers, far too much Riesling, too many places to walk to, traveling to work, pursuit of coffee, never ever never enough shopping, a party to go to every weekend, a bar to go to every damn day, not enough food, good friends, et cetera.
I kind of like it, kind of don't. I can't remember when I was more active than now.
I'm not used to living life at this crazy pace and I really want an entire weekend to do nothing. Kind of. |
